To read the amazing story of their delivery, continue reading below...

Maggie holds Keegan's paw after she helped Keegan deliver the first four babies in the litter. Both Maggie and Keegan were exhausted.
Keegan got tired after the third baby was born. So, Maggie helped her with the remaining deliveries. Maggie broke the sac, stimulated the
babies to breath, cleaned the babies, then bathed Keegan after each baby was born.

After Keegan's  fourth baby was born, Maggie went into labor. Maggie's first baby's head started crowning. She stopped her own labor so
she could continue helping her sister deliver her remaining babies. That was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. There is so
much love between those two mommies. I could not believe it when Maggie actually stopped her labor to continue helping Keegan. I felt so
privileged to share such a special experience with these two wonderful mommies.

This is pure Wegie Love.  After Keegan's final baby was born, Maggie caresses Keegan and her babies on a job well done. Since Maggie
had stopped her own labor so she could help her sister deliver her babies, Maggie could not restart her labor.  Keegan's babies immediately
started nursing from both Keegan and Maggie.  I was concerned that Keegan's babies would get all of the antibodies from Maggie that was meant
for her babies.  I talked with the vet. She assured me that there would be plenty of antibodies available in the colostrum when her babies were born.
She also said that the nursing might help stimulate Maggie to restart her labor.  After a day and a half with no babies from Maggie, I was really
getting worried.  At this point Maggie was at day 72 in her gestation.  Given that the average is 65 days, she was definitely way over due.

I was so afraid to fall asleep for fear that Maggie would start labor and have difficulties, and I would not wake up... in spite of the fact that their
box was right next to the bed. I had slept no more that 2 or 3 hours a day for the last 5 days.  Reluctantly, I fell sound asleep. About two o'clock
in the morning Keegan woke me up.  She was in a panic.  Sure enough, Maggie was in labor.  She was obviously in distress. She had some bloody
spotting.  I immediately scooped her up and took her to the vet.  She was so far over due, that the babies were too large to deliver on her own.
The vet assisted her with the delivery of two very large, and beautiful babies.  In honor or their Texas father
(Guri of Forestkatz, who is also Gabe's dad), I named them Minnie Pearl, a feisty little torby girl,
and Tex, a handsome brown tabby & white little boy.

Any time I get stressed out, all I have to do is look at my beautiful mommies with their precious babies.  This is true solace.
